WOSC 2022 Presentation Guidelines by Submission Type
* One presenter from your submission must attend the conference in person and present your oral podium paper, poster, or dialogic session
Oral Podium Paper Presentations
- Should be 15 minutes in length (a moderator will keep time)
- Will be followed by a 10-minute question and answer period
- May be accompanied by a slide presentation
- Presenters will be expected to upload their presentation onto a conference laptop which supports PowerPoint presentations (presentations prepared in other programs may not be supported; please convert to PowerPoint)
- Use of cloud-based presentation formats (like Prezi) should be avoided as any interruption to WIFI makes them inaccessible
- Oral presentations and accompanying visuals should follow accessibility and inclusivity guidelines
Poster Sessions
- Presenters will defend their posters during a scheduled 55-minute session.
- Presenters must prepare a hard copy version of their poster.
- Presenters must also submit a digital copy for viewing by registrants on the conference website.
Your poster should:
- be in landscape orientation; proportions 4:3
- fit on a 8′ (wide) x 4′ (tall) poster board
- use pins or Velcro to affix to poster board
- be appropriately designed and printed for readability at this size
- follow accessibility and inclusivity guidelines
Please submit your poster as a .pdf for inclusion on the website and send to WOSC.2022@ubc.ca by Monday, August 1, 2022.
Dialogic Sessions
- 55-minutes in length
- Self-moderated
- Involve active engagement of the audience and create space for participation and dialogue
- May incorporate creative formats
- Should follow accessibility and inclusivity guidelines
- May be accompanied by a slide presentation
- Presenters will be expected to upload their presentation onto a conference laptop which supports PowerPoint presentations (presentations prepared in other programs may not be supported; please convert to PowerPoint)
